One of the strongest antagonists in the Fullmetal Alchemist universe, Fuhrer King Bradley, has earned his title through merit, hardship, and suffering. While he may not share the regenerative properties of his homunculus brethren, he is far more capable than them due to his staggering speed and strength.

Bradley may be a force to be reckoned with in his own universe, but we can only gain a better understanding of the man's strength by matching him against opponents from different anime worlds. By doing this, we discern how terrible the king's wrath really was.

10 Could Beat: Zenitsu (Demon Slayer)

Zenitsu from Demon Slayer

In his unconscious state, Zenitsu is roughly as fast as lightning. His thunder breathing technique terrifies demons everywhere and allows him to dart so quickly between locations that he becomes a yellow flash.

This unconscious state is imperfect. Not only does it necessitate that the young slayer relies more on instincts than intelligence, but he also lacks the physical strength of his regal adversary. Since Bradley was able to cleave through a tank and maintains the reflexes of his agile opponent, it follows that in a direct clash, the homunculus should be able to overpower him.

9 Would Lose To: Kirito (Sword Art Online)

Kirito with Dark Repulser in Sword Art Online.

The famed Black Swordsman, Kirito has lost few fights. He possesses mobility which allows him to surpass challenges that the game designers of his universe intended to make impossible and the strength to cleave down large monsters with ease.

This entails that he should be physically stronger than Bradley, as the homunculus failed to slice through Buccaneer, a particularly sturdy human being. Further, Kirito is able to temporarily survive despite being directly impaled through the chest, delivering a fatal blow against his opponent that would make their fate his own if absolutely necessary.

8 Could Beat: Rammot (Hunter X Hunter)

One of the first chimera ants to discover Nen, Rammot's brutality and selfishness rendered him a danger to the hunters on account of his unpredictability. He was one of the few of Meruem's forces to face off against Gon and Killua alone, faring relatively well.

While he may use Nen to protect himself as necessary, he can only focus this as fast as he is able to think. This entails that against insurmountably swift opponents ~ such as Killua ~ he is unable to sufficiently defend against them. Thus, we can extrapolate that Bradley would find similar success in their battle.

7 Would Lose To: Pride (Fullmetal Alchemist)

fullmetal alchemist pride’s true form whirling around selim.

The "son" of King Bradley is ironically stronger than his father. His shadows are able to envelop a much larger range than Wrath can match, often even shrouding him as a makeshift shield. They are exceptionally durable, able to shrug off steel and alchemic attacks as dauntlessly as any physical armament.

Since the Fuhrer is unable to capitalize on Pride's aversion to light and heat (save for creating sparks with his swords), he is overpowered by his shadowy opponent, especially on account of the homunculus's vastly superior experience.

6 Could Beat: Izuku Midoriya (My Hero Academia)

Midoriya clenching his fist in My Hero Academia

Izuku Midoriya's "One For All" significantly enhances his physical abilities and enables him to launch targeted wind attacks through bending air with his fingers. This gives him a projectile against the King and a means of avoiding direct physical confrontation.

However, Bradley's ultimate eye is able to anticipate these attacks, enabling him to dodge them and close the distance between himself and the young hero. Considering that Midoriya does not have weapons to defend himself with (except for his gauntlets, arguably), he would be sliced apart with relatively little effort.

5 Would Lose To: Gaara (Naruto)

Gaara Sand

Gaara is the Kazekage of the Sand village and easily its most talented shinobi of his people. His jutsu allows him to create a shield durable enough to withstand a direct attack from Sasuke's chidori and is even resilient to the physical might of Rock Lee.

Since Bradley's swords are not noticeably durable (snapping against Greed's body on a number of occasions), it follows that he would not have the arsenal necessary to puncture his barrier, even if he had the speed to make it possible. After he got close, the Kazekage would seal him in a sand coffin and crush his entire body.

4 Could Beat: Jonathan Joestar (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure)

jonathan joestar

Jonathan Joestar's Hamon mastery poses a threat to every enemy he encounters. It is capable of destroying monsters quickly, as seen through his battle against Dio Brando and Joseph's subsequent fight with the forces of the Pillar Men.

Even though steel is an excellent conduit for the energy, it is only as efficient as he is able to target his adversary (since he cannot harness it as a defensive precaution). Therefore, Bradley would be able to best him on account of his superior swordsmanship, avoiding direct contact between their two weapons.

3 Would Lose To: Ichigo (Bleach)

Ichigo Kurosaki From Bleach

Able to convert his spiritual energy into physical power, Ichigo was perhaps the only person capable of defeating Lord Aizen. He is able to strike with such concentrated strength and precision that he forced their duel to occur outside of his home town, as he knew that fighting within it would entail its destruction.

From this, we can fully appreciate the caliber of the soul reaper's destructive potential, as well as the fact that should he begin swinging against the homunculus, his tyrannical opponent would not be able to flee the impending carnage despite his speed.

2 Could Beat: Stain (My Hero Academia)

My Hero Academia Stain

Stain is primarily a melee fighter and one that attempts to overwhelm his opponents through skill and maneuverability. In this regard, his tactics are much similar to Bradley's, save for the fact that a single lick of his blood would leave the homunculus paralyzed.

However, not only is the king able to track his movements with his eye, but he also has observably greater speed (as Deku and Todoroki could dodge some of Stain's attacks, whereas Scar was struck by most of his). This speaks to the differential in skill of both swordsmen.

1 Would Lose To: Smoker (One Piece)

Smoker in One Piece.

Smoker may be inferior to Bradley by way of skill and experience, but he would triumph over the homunculus on account of his astounding devil fruit power. It allows him to convert any part of his body to smoke on a whim, preventing any of the king's attacks from damaging him.

Further, it can be applied in an offensive capacity. After the fuhrer realized his initial mistake and came within the marine's striking range, the pirate hunter could disperse his body and use it to ensnare the homunculus's limbs. From that vantage point, Bradley would be powerless and have no means of escape.
