Frozen fans who subscribe to the Disney+ streaming service will be happy to know that the film's 2019 sequel is set to drop on the app this weekend.

Disney announced that Frozen 2 will be available to stream much earlier than expected. In a press release, the House of Mouse revealed that the film will be available for streaming on the Disney+ streaming service starting March 17. The film's Disney+ launch date comes three whole months early, as it was originally slated to hit the streaming service in June.

Initially premiering in the United States on Nov. 22, 2019, Frozen 2 follows the returning cast of Anna, Elsa, Olaf and Kristoff as they work to save their kingdom while also trying to better understand Elsa's powers. The film was met with positive reviews and won several Annie Awards as well as a Visual Effects Society Award.

Currently, Frozen 2 is the second highest-grossing animated film of all time, falling just behind 2019's The Lion King remake. At the time of writing, Frozen 2 has achieved a worldwide gross of $1.4 billion. At this time, there is currently no word on a third entry in the Frozen series.
