With Frozen 2, the sequel to the highest-earning animated film of all time, arriving in theaters this November, new details about the movie's new characters have surfaced.

At the Walt Disney Animation Studios' presentation at D23 Expo in Anaheim, returning Frozen songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Bobby Lopez promoted the upcoming sequel. While observing that audiences never really got the chance to know protagonists' Elsa and Anna's parents, they revealed that Evan Rachel Wood would portray the ill-fated mother to the siblings in a flashback sequence. Sterling K. Brown will be portraying a royal guard named Captain Mattias, who Anna looks up to.
