2. What was the last good book (not comics) that you read?

The Girl Who Would Be King by Kelly Thompson. Represent!

(but, for serious, it's pretty damned good and you should go read it)

7. What is the strangest thing you have in your house?

Our only regret is that Ross didn't have MORE of these.

16. What's the best part of being a creator?

I think the quick shoot-from-the-hip answer is "Getting paid to use your imagination!" The deeper answer is being able to meet-slash-interact with people who consume your product, whether that be from the TV side or the comics side. There's naturally some negativity you sign yourself up for by making yourself available, but I do genuinely enjoy getting to know folks that take the time to read and watch the things that I write.

21. Who has been the biggest help or motivator in your career?

The entire writing staff when I started as an intern on Smallville gets all the credit for helping me find my bearings in the very alien and intimidating world of television. It was a very welcoming, safe environment in which to just LEARN about how everything worked. It's my goal to take the spirit of education from that place and carry it with me to whatever other places I have the fortune of working in the future. Much love and respect.

24. What did you dress up as the last time you dressed in a costume (whether that's Halloween, a convention, or wherever)?

The last time I played dress up with any amount of effort was for a Halloween party a few years ago -- the wife and I went as mad scientists, lab coats, wigs and all. Crack-em glow sticks as vials of formula, etc. We were, sadly, the only people to insist on being "in character" for the entirety of the party.

28. Based on where you live right now, what's the farthest you've ever been from home, and why did you go there?

Having the ability and means to travel has coincided in life with not having the time to travel, so we don't get to much. I think the farthest I've gone in my adult life was on an anniversary trip to a wee little island in the Caribbean. I've been to a few different Canadian ports of call, too, for production reasons. Love Vancouver, hardcore.
