"From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series" will continue to cut a bloody swathe across cable television in 2016, as El Rey Network has renewed the vampire series for a third season.

The show is based on Robert Rodriguez' 1996 cult hit film "From Dusk Til Dawn." Much like the movie, the series focuses on a pair of criminal brothers (played by D.J. Cotrona and Zane Holtz) as they maneuver there way through a world filled with magic, violence and blood-sucking vampires.

"I'm so friggin excited that we are moving forward with another season of 'From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series,'" Rodriguez, who is also one of the co-founders of El Rey Network, said in a statement. "This show has a passionate following, and I just love making it and directing episodes. We have a killer cast and the characters have gotten even more layered and magnetic and I can't wait to take this story even further."

The show's Season 2 finale airs October 27 and features special guest star Demi Lovato.
