Will Smith has shared the first behind-the-scenes photos from HBO Max's unscripted Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reunion special -- one of which features the surprising return of none other than Janet Hubert, the original performer behind the character of Vivian Banks.

The first photo released by Smith features himself in the classic living room set alongside co-stars Tatyana Ali (Ashley Banks), Karyn Parsons (Hilary Banks), Joseph Marcell (Geoffrey Butler), Daphne Maxwell Reid (Vivian Banks, Seasons 4-6), Alfonso Ribeiro (Carlton Banks) and DJ Jazzy Jeff (Jazz). The second photo was taken up in the stands and features Smith sitting down for a chat with Hubert, who played Aunt Viv in Fresh Prince's first three seasons. The reunion between Smith and Hubert is one 27 years in the making.

Hubert debuted in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air's first episode as Vivian Banks, the aunt of Will and the wife of Philip Banks (played by the late James Avery). She played the character throughout Fresh Prince's first three seasons before being fired from the role. She was subsequently replaced by Reid, who portrayed Aunt Viv from Season 4 until the show's conclusion with Season 6. Hubert's departure reportedly stemmed from conflicts with the other cast members, Smith included. However, it now appears the two are in the process of burying the hatchet.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air premiered exactly 30 years ago on Sept. 10, 1990. Following a fictionalized version of Will Smith, who moves from Philadelphia to live with his aunt and uncle in Bel-Air, the comedy series ran for a total of six seasons, concluding in May of 1996. HBO Max's reunion special was filmed today and is expected to premiere on the service around Thanksgiving. Moreover, a dramatic re-imagining of Fresh Prince has received a two-season order at Peacock.
