Change is inevitable, especially in Hollywood. That's never more clear than when studios announce new release dates for movies that have either been delayed or moved up. Fox just revealed several shifts, including Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past, which moved from July 18, 2014, to May 23, 2014. Meanwhile, the studio shuffled Dawn of the Planet of the Apes from May 23 to the heart of blockbuster season on July 18.

Assassin’s Creed will now open on May 22, 2015, Peregrine’s Home for Peculiars (formerly Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children) on July 31, 2015, and Roland Emmerich Independence Day sequel will appropriately bow on the Fourth of July weekend in 2015.

Open Road also got in on the ol' switcheroo game. Robert Rodriguez's Machete Kills was moved back a month to Oct. 4, and the Sylvester Stallone-written action film Homefront, starring Jason Statham and James Franco, got set up with a Nov. 27 release.
