Fox's '24: Legacy' Casts 'Messengers' Alum in Key Role

"The Messengers" actress Anna Diop will star opposite Corey Hawkins and Miranda Otto in the pilot for "24: Legacy," Fox's reboot of the long-running franchise.

According to Deadline, Diop will play Nicole, the wife of Hawkins' ex-Army Ranger Eric Carter, in what's expected to be a "significant role."

Written by "24" veterans Manny Coto and Evan Katz, the pilot centers on Hawkins' character, who's pulled back into action when is past comes looking for him. He eventually turns to CTU for help in saving his life and stopping a large-scale terrorist attack. Otto has been cast as Rebecca Ingram, the former head of CTU.

Fox has so far only ordered a pilot for the project, which is intended to play out over 12 episodes, like 2014’s “24: Live Another Day.”

Perhaps best known for her role on The CW's short-lived supernatural drama "The Messengers," Diop has also appeared on ABC's "Quantico."
