"Gravity Falls" creator Alex Hirsch has struck a deal Fox and 20th Century Fox TV to develop a new animated series. Variety reports Hirsch will create a new script and presentation pilot as part of the agreement.

"I'm cooking up some brand-new weirdness," he shared, though any additional details are being kept under wraps.

Hirsch is best known for his animated series "Gravity Falls," which ran on Disney XD for 40 episodes and inspired a dedicated group of fans. That series will air its conclusion with an hour-long series finale on February 15.

In addition to "Gravity Falls," Hirsch helped created the Disney Channel series "Fish Hooks."
