Pilots are being ordered left and right, and Fox has delivered us one that pairs two exciting creators with an interesting premise. According to EW.com, the network has snagged the modern-day take on "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" from Star Trek producers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci.

The log line reads: “A modern-day supernatural thriller based on the legend of Sleepy Hollow.” Vague but intriguing, especially considering that Len Wiseman will direct and executive produce. Also on board are Heather Kadin as an executive producer and Phil Iscover as a writer and producer.

It's no wonder that Fox turned to the producing duo to create another project, and our hope after Fringe is that this Sleepy Hollow story is more than meets the eye. Wiseman's involvement is interesting, but considering their relationship with him on Hawaii Five-0, it's not surprising. He directed and produced that pilot, and hopefully will do as great a job with this one.

Washington Irving's 1820 short story "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" has had many incarnations, but it most memorably was adapted by Disney in 1949 as an animated feature (part of The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad), and then by Tim Burton in 1999 as a live-action film. It will be interesting to see what a modern-day take on the story entails.
