"The O.C." creator Josh Schwartz is returning to Fox with a pilot for the comedy-drama "Horrorstör."

Hailing from ABC Studios, Deadline reports the drama is inspired by the 2014 supernatural-mystery novel by Grady Hendrix. "Horrorstör" centers on Amy, who works in an Ikea-like Orsk furniture store, where each morning employees arrive to find merchandise destroyed. The security cameras are no help, leaving it up to three employees to work the dusk-till-dawn shift, where they uncover horrors they never imagined.

Schwartz penned the pilot with Black List writer Michael Vukadinovich, and will executive produce alongside his partner Stephanie Savage; former Fox entertainment chief Gail Berman, whose Jackal Group picked up the rights to Hendrix's novel; and Charlie Kaufman, who brought the book to Berman's attention.
