Fox has launched two new viral campaigns for the upcoming "X-Men: Days of Future Past" Blu-ray release. The first, Tandem Initiative, is a website for a fictional organization whose goal is to re-map the human genome "in hopes of further understanding the genetic makeup of both Homo Sapiens as well as Homo Sapiens Superior." It encourages users to submit a photo of their genetic gift or ability for its campaign.
The second viral site, M-Underground seems to be dedicated to revealing conspiracies involving mutants in the X-Men world. The first post reveals that Ted Kennedy was actually a mutant with the ability to heal and not feel pain. The material bears the watermark of the Tandem Initiative, and includes a copy of a fictitious speech planned for the 1978 Democratic National Convention. The M-Underground website also has posted a "Homo Sapiens Superior Video Codex" that attempts to frame mutants for many of the world's problems.
"X-Men: Days of Future Past" arrives on Blu-ray October 14.
