Fox Greenlights Locke & Key Pilot

Fox has greenlit the pilot for Locke & Key, DreamWorks TV's adaptation of the horror comic by Joe Hill, Variety reports.

The network already gave the project a series commitment in September, but this finalizes plans to shoot the pilot. Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (Star Trek, Fringe) are producing Locke & Key through their first-look deal with DreamWorks Studios. Josh Friedman (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, The Black Dahlia) is writing the adaptation.

Debuting in 2008 from IDW Publishing, Locke & Key is a series of miniseries revolving around a family that moves to a spooky mansion in Lovecraft, Massachusetts, whose many doors can transport its residents to other worlds or bestow them with supernatural abilities. Written by Hill, author of Heart Shaped Box and son of Stephen King, and illustrated by Gabriel Rodriguez, the series won the 2009 British Fantasy Award for best comic or graphic novel.
