Here’s another sign that the superhero movie genre might be on its way out: It’s getting its own Blair Witch-style movie, from the son of the man who made An American Werewolf In London.
The Heat Vision blog is reporting that 20th Century Fox is in negotiations to pick up Chronicle, a script written by Max Landis about three Portland teens who gain superpowers after encountering a mysterious substance in the woods. The movie is to be shot in what’s being described as a “hand-held, documentary-style,” similar to Paranormal Activity and Cloverfield, courtesy of first-time director Josh Trank – also the son of a filmmaker, in this case, documentary maker Richard Trank.
