Fortnite's latest crossover is with Free Guy, Ryan Reynolds' latest film about an NPC in an open-world video game.

While many players may assume that the new skin coming to Fortnite is none other than Ryan Reynolds, who plays the protagonist of Free Guy, they'd be incorrect. Rather than having the titular Guy board the Battle Bus, players will instead be able to purchase The Dude, one of the film's secondary antagonists. The Dude will be available for purchase in the Item Shop from Aug. 12.

To spread a little more wholesome energy around Fortnite's island, players will also be able to complete a new questline to unlock the "Good Guy" emote. All you'll need to do is hunt down an ATM machine and follow Guy's instructions. Doing so will unlock the emote which can be used with any skin currently in the game. This in-game event runs from Aug. 12 to Sept. 6.

Given Free Guy's theme, a crossover with Fortnite was almost inevitable. The film tells the story of Guy, an NPC in a popular open-world video game that becomes sentient. While attempting to stay alive, Guy must work together with one of the game's programmers Molotov Girl (Jodi Comer) to save the virtual world from destruction at the hands of the game's creator, Antoine (Taika Waititi).

It's clearly a very good week to be both a fan of Ryan Reynolds and Fortnite. Free Guy releases only in theatres on Aug. 13 while Fortnite is currently available on nearly every modern game platform. That includes PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC and mobile devices.
