Stephen Amell had a rather hilarious response to the news that Green Arrow would be the latest arrival in Fortnite."Where's the goatee?" Amell tweeted when the skin was revealed. This is a reference to the classic Van Dyke beard that Oliver Queen often sports in comic book canon. The skin is based on Amell's portrayal of Queen in the CW television series Arrow, particularly the final season. Amell himself never wore the Van Dyke when he portrayed Queen.RELATED: The CW's Arrow: Why Prometheus Remains Oliver Queen's GREATEST Villain

Arrow premiered on the CW in 2012 and served as the launching pad for a series of interconnected DC superhero shows including The Flash and DC's Legends of Tomorrow. Amell played Ollie for eight seasons, with the finale airing in 2020. A spinoff titled Green Arrow and the Canaries, featuring Queen's daughter Mia (Katherine McNamara) has been in development at The CW. Meanwhile, Amell's next project is the Starz wrestling drama Heels, which is currently in production.

The Green Arrow skin will be part of the Fortnite January Crew Pack, which arrives on Dec. 31 at 7 p.m. ET, and is inspired by Amell's costume from the eighth and final season of Arrow. Players will also be able to use Green Arrow-themed equipment, including the Tactical Quiver Back Bling plus Style and Boxing Glove Pickaxe.

Developed by Epic Games, Fortnite is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC.
