All Elite Wrestling confirmed that former NXT Champion Andrade El Idolo joined its roster.AEW announced the signing of Andrade on its official Twitter account by posting a photo of the wrestler on June 4, along with the caption, "Welcome to the team @AndradeElIdolo is #AllElite." The wrestling organization also teased that Andrade would be making his official AEW debut on AEW: Dynamite -- urging fans to tune in "now" to see his debut.RELATED: Cinemark to Screen AEW Double or Nothing in Select Theaters

As part of his first appearance on AEW: Dynamite, Andrade debuted under the ring name Andrade El Idolo and aligned himself with wrestler Vickie Guerrero.

Andrade signed with WWE in 2015 after competing in Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre and New Japan Pro-Wrestling. In 2016, he made his in-ring debut during an NXT house show using the ring name Manny Andrade, but was later renamed Andrade Cien Almas. During his time with WWE, Andrade won the NXT Championship, the WWE United States Championship and the NXT Year-End Award, among several other accomplishments.

After six years on the WWE, he was released from his contract in March. At the time of his release, the WWE stated, "WWE has come to terms on the release of Andrade. We wish him all the best in all of his future endeavors."

Andrade is the latest in a series of former WWE stars to sign with the AEW. Most recently, WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry made his AEW debut on March 30 at this year's Double or Nothing pay-per-view event in Jacksonville, Florida. Other additions to AEW's roster this year include Paul Wight and Christian Cage.

Other ex-WWE stars currently on the AEW roster include Co-Executive Vice President Cody Rhodes, as well as Awesome Kong (formerly known as Kharma), Chris Jericho, Cash Wheeler (formerly Dash Wilder), Dax Harwood (formerly Scott Dawson), Dustin Rhodes (formerly Goldust), Jake Hager (formerly Jack Swagger), Jon Moxley (formerly Dean Ambrose), Leva Bates, Matt Hardy, Matt Sydal (formerly Evan Bourne), Miro (formerly Rusev), Pac (formerly Neville), Shawn Spears (formerly Tye Dillinger) and Taz.

News of Andrade's signing comes on the heels of AEW announcing that its flagship show, AEW: Dynamite, will be moving to TBS in 2022. It also recently announced that AEW: Rampage will its TNT debut on Aug. 13 at 10:00 p.m. ET, while four new annual wrestling specials will be added to TNT's lineup until Dynamite transitions to TBS.
