Anime characters can have some of the most outrageous hairstyles and hair colors. That is the norm for anime fans though since they are pretty much used to it. Among the many hair colors available, silver/white/grey is one color that fans love unanimously (assuming of course it isn’t on the head of an old person). 10 Near (Death Note)
When it comes to Death Note, people often only remember it through Light and L. There are extremely important sets of side characters that are often overlooked unfairly. This is the case in Near’s situation, where despite assisting L and being almost as smart as him, he doesn’t get as much fan adulation.
Near is obsessed with solving puzzles, is a complete genius, is socially awkward, is ambidextrous, and is able to focus on multiple things simultaneously.
9 Mizuki (Kamisama Kiss)
Between the romance of the two leads of this series, Mizuki often gets overlooked as the “nice” guy that was part of the heroine’s reverse harem. Yet no one talks of the phenomenal development he makes after he meets Nanami.
Once a protected, naive, and sheltered person, Mizuki blossoms into a fierce warrior who wouldn’t hesitate to get into a fight or threatening someone’s life, if they harmed his friends. Despite that, he is still able to retain his innocent side.
8 Menma (Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day)
Menma is the epitome of a sweet, kind, and cheerful girl who also happens to be extremely dumb. She always puts her friends before herself and she is shown to be very childish. [spoiler]This is because she never grew up to live the life of an adult.[/spoiler]
Despite being surrounded by people who love her, she often ends up feeling lonely. This usually happens when she goes to visit her family, who makes her realize she does not belong to them.
7 Kyouko Kirigiri (Danganronpa)
Kyoko is a tsundere. She’s intelligent and stoic on the outside, with her past being a mystery for a large part of the series. On the inside, she is shown to get upset easily when certain topics are broached.
Despite that, she is often able to hold her calm during the most distressing situations. She never lets a sweat break on her face even when she is near a dead body. She also hates it when people keep secrets from her.
6 Nao Tomori (Charlotte)
Hardworking and smart, Nao is an ideal student. Yet the truth is that she’s a liar, she gets annoyed easily and has an unbearable narcissistic side to her. She’s a complete foodie and she is the one who helps Yuu come out of his shell after his sister died.
She has trust issues because of what happened in the past. However, she eventually learns to let go of her issues and learns to trust Yuu to the point where she believes his talks about time travel.
5 Shiro (Deadman Wonderland)
Shiro’s age is never clarified but it is assumed she’s somewhere between 12 and 14. She is obsessed with keeping Ganta safe in the prison that they share.
She has a sweet tooth and despite her past, she still holds a very pure outlook on how love and relationships should be. Shiro is unbelievably strong and often seems oblivious to the many injuries her body incurs.
4 Undertaker (Black Butler)
The Undertaker was introduced as a mysterious and eccentric man who knew the underbelly of the city he lived in. He loves playing practical jokes and often trades information in exchange for making him laugh.
But with the progression of the Black Butler series, it was revealed that he was one of the primary antagonists of the show. He was actually responsible for not only killing hundreds of innocent women and children but also endangering the life of Ciel consistently.
3 Kanade Tachibana (Angel Beats)
In the Afterlife school, Tachibana is one of its many students. Her nickname is Angel because of her unusual and inexplicable abilities to fight and dodge attacks. Her major responsibilities include making sure the students present are able to cope emotionally.
However, after Yuri decided to blame God for her troubles, Angel became the target of every student from the Academy. Her stoic personality and inability to express her emotions often ended up working against her in the show.
2 Zen Wistaria (Snow White With The Red Hair)
Despite being a prince, Zen is shown to have no bias when it came to communicating with the common people. He respects everybody equally and never abuses his position of power. This can be seen clearly in the way he treats his palace servants.
He holds a special place in his heart for Shirayuki and patiently waits for her to fall in love with her, instead of forcing his feelings onto her.
1 Soushi Miketsukami (Inu X Boku SS)
Soushi might appear to be a human, but he really is a nine-tailed spirit fox. He is assigned as Ririchiyo’s bodyguard and is shown to be the most powerful creature that resides in their special apartment complex.
Despite that, he is excessively needy, worries too much over Ririchiyo, and obeys every command of hers blindly. The manga shows that because of his death he was unable to remember his past.
