Ever since joining The Flash at the beginning of the DCTV series' fourth season, Ralph Dibny has been a single man, despite his amorous advances towards several different characters in The CW series' cast.

In a new interview, Hartley Sawyer, who portrays the stretching superhero the Elongated Man, confirmed that his character arc is building from unscrupulous detective to a responsible hero ready for a serious love interest.

"We're working our way towards [a love interest]," explained Sawyer in an interview with TV Guide. "[Ralph] has to work on himself a little more before that really comes in, but he's done a lot of work on himself. If that had come in last year, I mean how would that have turned out for him? He was not ready for anything like that. He's sort of worked the kinks out of his system, where he's going to be ready for that very, very soon. I'm excited for that."

In the comics, Ralph Dibny's primary love interest was Sue Dearbon whom he later marries with Barry Allen serving as his best man in 1961's The Flash #119 by John Broome and Carmine Infantino. Whether Sue will be introduced by the end of this season, has yet to be confirmed.
