SPOILER WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for "The Icicle Cometh," the latest episode of The Flash.
The Flash may have just dropped another clue in the "Elseworlds" puzzle. In "The Icicle Cometh," the latest episode, Caitlin's father Thomas Snow mentioned several DC Comics scientists, including longtime Batman villain Victor Fries, aka Mr. Freeze.
When Barry, Caitlin and Cisco turned up at the Tannhauser facility in the Arctic, they discovered that not only was Thomas alive, he also knew each of them by name. "When I first came here, I stayed in contact with scientists Louise Lincoln, Victor Fries and Harrison Wells," he explained. "Dr. Wells was able to give me full access to STAR Labs' video uplink."

Victor Fries is, of course, a classic Batman villain. He debuted in 1959's Batman #121 as Mr. Zero before taking the name Mr. Freeze in 1968's Detective Comics #373. His wife Nora entered the scene in "Heart of Ice," the Emmy Award-winning episode of Batman: The Animated Series that aired in 1992. Shortly after marrying Victor Fries, a GothCorp cryogenics researcher, Nora was diagnosed with a terminal disease. In a bid to save her, he cryogenically froze her so she would live long enough for a cure to be developed. During this time, he was attacked in his lab and mutated by the chemicals there, transforming him into the villainous Mr. Freeze.
Notably, Cassandra Jean Amell was cast as Nora Fries, wife of Mr. Freeze, back in September. It is unclear how big of a role Amell's Nora Fries will play or if her husband will appear at all in "Elseworlds," the upcoming three-show Arrowverse crossover. However, by virtue of her connection to Mr. Freeze and the reference to him on tonight's episode of The Flash, her presence suggests he could play a part in the crossover.

In addition to Victor Fries, Thomas Snow also namedropped Louise Lincoln. In the comics, Lincoln is an ally of Killer Frost with a vendetta against Firestorm. When Killer Frost died, she repeated her colleague's experiment and became the new Killer Frost. She has been a part of the Suicide Squad, Injustice League, Legion of Doom and more.
Airing Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW, The Flash stars Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Carlos Valdes, Danielle Panabaker, Tom Cavanaugh, Jesse L. Martin, Danielle Nicolet, Hartley Sawyer, and Jessica Parker Kennedy.
