The CW's Arrowverse has a history of attracting fan-favorite actors in guest-starring roles, from Mark Hamill and Lynda Carter to Kevin Sorbo and Billy Zane. That trend continues as The Flash has cast Homicide: Life on the Street and Veronica Mars actor Kyle Secor as the father of Caitlin Snow.

Best known for playing Detective Tim Bayliss on Homicide, and software billionaire Jake Kane on Veronica Mars, Secor will have a recurring role in Season 5 as Dr. Thomas Snow, Caitlin's long-absent father, whom Entertainment Weekly describes as "an extremely intelligent geneticist who has been MIA for decades." Now he's back, and hoping to make up for lost time.

However, Dr. Snow has a secret (par for the course for The Flash), but it's unknown whether he will be an ally to Team Flash, or turn out to be an adversary. Given last season's revelation that Caitlin has possessed her cryokinetic abilities since childhood, it would come as no surprise if the latter were the case.
