Peter Parker's classmate Flash Thompson was known for his fanboy appreciation of Spider-Man in both Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home. However, now that Spider-Man was publically revealed to be Peter Parker in Far From Home's post-credit scene, it appears Flash will have a very different opinion of Spidey in Spider-Man 3.
Sony teased several details regarding its upcoming film through their @spideyno1fan_ account, which acts as Flash's in-world social media page. A recent post asked whether Spider-Man or Night-Monkey is a better hero. Next to the picture of Spider-Man is a note in Flash's handwriting that calls Spidey "a menace," echoing J. Jonah Jameson's stance.
Flash also posted a Daily Bugle article that notably reads, "Somehow, people STILL support Spider-Man, not us! We are all team Mysterio, baby!"
It appears that Jameson's Daily Bugle has fanned the flames of Mysterio's framing of Spider-Man and Flash has been all too eager to support the Bugle after learning Spider-Man is actually the classmate he bullied. Given that Sony moderates this in-world social media account, this new dynamic can be expected to play a part in the next Spider-Man movie.
The plot of the untitled third Spider-Man film is kept under tight wraps. However, it's been confirmed that Doctor Strange will have a role in the film, with former Spider-Man villain actors Jamie Foxx and Alfred Molina also reported to be involved. Recent rumors suggested that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will appear in the highly anticipated sequel.
Directed by Jon Watts, the currently untitled sequel to Spider-Man: Far From Home stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Jamie Foxx, Alfred Molina and Benedict Cumberbatch. The film arrives in theaters Dec. 17.
