The Flash Set Photos Spoil a Major New DC Comics Element for Season 6

A big, physical change is coming for Barry Allen in The Flash Season 6.

New set photos from The CW series have surfaced online, and they show what appears to be the Scarlet Speedster with dark, monstrous hands. A closer inspection reveals sharp fingertips and what appears to be dark color on the skin of the character's face.

For the time being, it's unclear what has befallen the Central City speedster, but already fans are speculating that this could be the series' version of Negative Flash. In a recent storyline from The Flash comics, Barry Allen was thrown into the Negative Speed Force by the Reverse-Flash, and this dark force that transformed him into the Negative Flash. On top of gaining new powers, the dark energies of the Negative Speed Force gave Barry Allen a different appearance, complete with dark, monster-like hands.

Of course, this remains just a theory for now, given that much of the season will revolve around the upcoming "Crisis On Infinite Earths" crossover. Perhaps these set photos reveal a look at a new Black Flash or something else sinister.

Returning Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 8 p.m. on The CW, The Flash stars Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Carlos Valdes, Danielle Panabaker, Tom Cavanagh, Jesse L. Martin, Danielle Nicolet and Hartley Sawyer.
