Despite being cut short by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, The Flash Season 6 finale is jam-packed with risky plans. The synopsis for "Success Is Assured" sees Barry make an attempt to rescue Iris from the Mirrorverse, while Sue Dearbon makes a dangerous move that could ruin her life.

According to the official synopsis,

THE FLASH SEASON FINALE -- Barry (Grant Gustin) considers a risky plan to save Iris (Candice Patton) from the Mirrorverse. Ralph (Hartley Sawyer) attempts to stop Sue (guest star Natalie Dreyfuss) from making a grave mistake that could destroy her life. Phil Chipera directed the episode written by Kelly Wheeler & Lauren Barnett (#619). Original airdate 5/12/2020.

Earlier this week, showrunner Eric Wallace told CBR that it's only a matter of time before Iris escapes the Mirrorverse. "Let's face it, at some point, Iris does have to get out of the Mirrorverse," he said. "Then is Iris going to get out of the Mirrorverse? And how is she going to get out? And what happens when she does? Because the consequences of watching all of the things that she's been forced to watch is going to leave a big emotional toll on Iris. So, when she does get out, is she the same? That's the question."

What's more, Sue is on a collision with Black Hole, the nefarious organization run by Eva McCulloch's husband Joseph Carver. She has spent the season trying to protect her parents, who are being blackmailed by Carver, and it looks like the season finale will send her right into the den of the beast -- unless Ralph can stop her first.

Addressing the trajectory of Ralph and Sue's relationship, Elongated Man actor Hartley Sawyer told CBR, "There are going to be things that are expected and there are going to be some things that I think 99.9% of people would never guess in a million years."

Airing Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW, The Flash stars Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Carlos Valdes, Danielle Panabaker, Tom Cavanagh, Jesse L. Martin, Danielle Nicolet and Hartley Sawyer. The Season 6 finale airs May 12.
