The Season 6 premiere of The Flash saw the Scarlet Speedster and his allies take on Chester P. Runk, a new meta-human who could create singularities. Managing to seal the black hole, Team Flash was also able to save Chester from being consumed by his inadvertent creation.

Now, showrunner and executive producer Eric Wallace has noted that the series has plans for Chester to return and cross paths with Team Flash in the near future, as well as resolve whether he mustered the courage to ask out his friend Natalie. In fact, for Wallace, as soon as he saw footage of Brandon McKnight's portrayal as Chester, he began developing plans for his return.

"The first thing I said was 'How can we get this guy back?'" Wallace told TVLine. "We want to get to know him a little better and let him interact with Team Flash a second time, very soon. He's got to ask Natalie out, and I want to see that story."

As Team Flash prepares for the impending Crisis, Wallace noted that Chester may become a valuable ally when he eventually resurfaces. For him, it serves as a callback to his own time as a fan reading Flash comics.

"Chester P. Runk was one of my favorite characters from the late ['80s] run of The Flash comics," Wallace said. "I was a young, African-American comic book reader, always looking for my own face in the comic books, and here was a character who, even though he was presented villainous at first, eventually becomes not only an ally but friend of the Flash."

Airing Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on The CW, The Flash stars Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Carlos Valdes, Danielle Panabaker, Tom Cavanagh, Jesse L. Martin, Danielle Nicolet and Hartley Sawyer.
