Nora "XS" West-Allen has friends in high places. In "Nora," The Flash Season 5 premiere, she casually namedropped another member of the Legion of Super-Heroes: Lightning Lad.

During a coffee date with Iris at C.C. Jitters, Nora couldn't help but compare the Flash's lightning bolt to the one Lightning Lad wears. "Dad's lightning bolt is way cooler than Lightning Lad's," she said with a smile, before her mother changed the subject.

Of course, the Legion is no stranger to the Arrowverse. The team, which hails from the 31st century, played a major role in Supergirl Season 3. Lightning Lad has never been seen or mentioned until now, though his sister Ayla "Lightning Lass" Ranzz was namedropped in the Supergirl mid-season episode “Legion of Super-Heroes.” While the Legion is familiar to fans of the Arrowverse, this is the first time they've been referred to on The Flash.

In the comics, XS debuted as a Legionnaire herself in Tom McCraw, Mark Waid and Jeffrey Moy's Legionnaires #0 from 1994. Though The Flash's version of XS and the one in the comics differ in a lot of ways, it makes sense Nora would at least be familiar with the Legion of Super-Heroes, considering how closely she is tied to their lore.

Airing Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW, The Flash stars Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Carlos Valdes, Danielle Panabaker, Tom Cavanaugh, Jesse L. Martin, Danielle Nicolet, Hartley Sawyer, and Jessica Parker Kennedy.
