Studios and networks are announcing new production schedules as coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions begin to ease up. This includes The CW, which is expected to resume shooting on The FlashRiverdale and Charmed.

According to Deadline, filming on Season 7 of The Flash and Season 5 of Riverdale may pick up sometime in August or September. Meanwhile, production on Season 3 of Charmed is rumored to kick off Aug. 10.

All three shows, which are scheduled to premiere their new seasons in January, are filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, where filming restrictions were recently lifted and the government was praised for its effective handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, unlike the provinces of Quebec and Ontario, British Columbia never experienced a major coronavirus outbreak. That said, continued travel restrictions mean the resumed productions will have to rely more on local talent than before.

California has also lifted restrictions on Hollywood productions. However, the various unions and guilds are still negotiating with studios over safety procedures and social distancing guidelines before major production can start.

Due to the pandemic, The CW has postponed much of its usual fall lineup to early 2021, including Riverdale, The FlashBatwomanSuperman & Lois and Black Lightning.
