Hailing from the 25th century, Commander Cold served as a key ally to Barry Allen/Flash for many of the hero's most recent stories. However, Captain Cold/Leonard Snart killed the hero after getting empowered by Lex Luthor and Perpetua as part of DC's Year of the Villain. The preview for Joshua Williamson and Christian Duce's The Flash #751 reveals that, before he died, Commander Cold left Flash a major gift: Knowledge of the future.
