Although she's yet to make her DC Extended Universe debut, actress Kiersey Clemons confirms she's still attached to play Iris West in the upcoming Flash movie.
Many elements of the film, including its title, have been in a state of flux, but it has maintained its central cast, with Ezra Miller set to reprise his role as Barry Allen from Justice League. Despite rumors that the role of Iris West might be recast, Clemons insists that she's still part of the DCEU -- even though her cameo was cut from Justice League.
Appearing last night on Conan, the Transparent star said The Flash is still in the cards for her.
"Imagine if I said no," she told host Conan O'Brien. "Imagine if I was like, ‘I’m cut out of the whole thing.’ We talked about it, though, before so that’s not going to happen. I know I’m going to be in The Flash ... Yeah, I’m Iris West."
Between the Justice League edits and the departure of The Flash director Rick Famuyiwa, there were concerns that Clemons would exit the DCEU before she even made her debut. Famuyiwa was the one who cast Clemons as Barry Allen's love interest after working with her on Dope, but the actress promises she isn't going anywhere.
Billy Crudup is also expected to reprise his role as Henry Allen from Justice League with an expanded part in The Flash.
Directed by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, The Flash stars Ezra Miller as Barry Allen, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West and Billy Crudup as Henry Allen, with Ray Fisher and Gal Gadot rumored to appear as Cyborg and Wonder Woman. The film is currently expected sometime in 2020.
