The DC Extended Universe's fanbase is largely divided due to the differing opinions regarding previous films; however, the DCEU is continuing to expand, and its upcoming film The Flash may just be what the franchise needs to unite the fans and reboot the Justice League. Though it hasn't been confirmed as to whether or not this film will serve as a reboot, there is evidence for the proposition.

First, DC has already rebooted the Justice League in their Flashpoint comics and animated series, so they could adapt this storyline to the big screen with the upcoming Flash movie. In the comics, Wonder Woman played an antagonistic role, leading the Amazonians into war against the world. Cyborg also played a strong role in the storyline, working with Thomas Wayne who was trying to deal with the ongoing war that destroyed most of Europe.

Further evidence to support this theory is the fact that other DC actors will be returning to The Flash, and as previously stated, the Flashpoint comics included many other characters in the franchise. Ben Affleck and Gal Gadot will both reprising their roles as Batman and Wonder Woman, respectively. There's also a rumor that Ray Fisher is in negotiations to reprise his role as Cyborg for a cameo.

If the facts listed are any indication, The Flash may very well be setting up a new storyline to revive the Justice League. Theoretically, Flash could do something in the film that changes the universe and resets everything that happened from before. Then, Batman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg and other heroes could make their second Justice League debut.

The Flash has the potential to create a new world within the DCEU and rewrite the Justice League that fans were disappointed with. The DCEU's fan base carries varied opinions, which has put Warner Bros. in a difficult situation where fans turn away when it creates gritty Snyder-style DC films, and others turn away from lighter movies like Shazam!. The new Flash movie could finally bring all the fans back together. Like the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the idea of the multiverse that The Flash may be bringing could allow all DCEU films to exist side-by-side. A brand new universe featuring multiple timelines could be born. The Flash is the perfect opportunity to reboot the Justice League and unite the fan base by incorporating what everyone loves about DC films into one movie universe.
