WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Flash Forward #6, by Scott Lobdell, Brett Booth, Norm Rapmund, Luis Guerrero and ALW's Troy Peteri, on sale now.

Following Flashpoint, Wally West/Flash lost everything, including his family, and disappeared from reality for several years. When he returned, his marriage to Linda Park had never happened, and she didn't remember him at all. This also meant their children, Jai and Iris West, were nowhere to be found. All of that has proven immensely stressful for Wally, and it resulted in him killing several people at Sanctuary -- a place for heroes to heal from the psychological wounds inflicted by their jobs -- during Heroes in Crisis.

Following that disaster, Wally embarked on a multiverse-spanning quest at the behest of Tempus Fuginaut that resulted in him finding his children at the Incursion Point. Tempus then told Wally he'd have to destroy the Incursion Point -- and hence his children -- to save the regular universe from the Dark Multiverse. As the world is made from Wally's fears and anxieties, he's the only one who can solve the problem. However, in Flash Forward #6, Wally finds a way to both save his universe and his children.

After spending one last day with his children, Wally makes a deal with Tempus: He'll use the Mobius Chair -- an immensely powerful New Gods artifact that bestows an unbelievable amount of knowledge on its user -- to lose his sense of self as he's overwhelmed with pure knowledge. This will destroy the Incursion Point. In return, Tempus must whisk Jai and Iris back to Earth. Tempus agrees, and Wally sits in the Mobius Chair.

Jai and Iris attempt to intervene, but they're no match for Tempus, who sends them right outside Linda Park's house in Central City on Earth-0. When they arrive, Linda's memories of the past are restored, and she's able to recall her time with Wally and the existence of her children, who are "no longer orphans trapped in a world black as pitch."

Although his family is reunited, Wally is not among them, as he's jetting around the multiverse -- through both space and time -- in his hybridized form with Doctor Manhattan. The book makes clear Wally retains some aspect of himself and is watching over his family, but he's also distinctly separate from them as the Mobius Chair has made him more than Wally West. Thus, the Wally that freed his children is gone, and it's unclear when -- or if -- he'll ever return.

With Flash Forward #6, Wally achieves his ultimate goal and brings his children back into the DC Universe proper, though how much anyone other than Linda Park will remember them isn't clear. There's also some question to the legitimacy of this version of Jai and Iris West, as the Incursion Point is a planet created by Wally's fears and anxieties, which means they may mostly be copies of his children. Still, Wally's ability to save both Jai and Iris along with his universe truly embodies the idea that The Flash always finds a way -- even if that means losing himself in the process.
