Ever since The Flash Season 5, the villainous Godspeed has menaced the speedster superheroes that protect Central City, including Barry Allen.

Season 6 opened with Godspeed, the white-clad speedster that originally confronted Nora West-Allen in an alternate 2049, appearing throughout Central City. However, it was discovered these were all doppelgängers sent by the true Godspeed from an unknown location. According to showrunner and executive producer Eric Wallace, the real Godspeed will appear to fight the Flash in the upcoming seventh season.

"Yes, you just might…" answered Wallace in an interview with TVLine when asked if the true Godspeed would appear in Season 7. "Because that’s where we’re going!”

Created by Joshua Williamson and Carmine Di Giandomenico in 2016's The Flash: Rebirth #1, Godspeed was August Hart, an old friend of Barry's that gained super-speed and decided to use it to lethally target criminals. Season 6 ended with the threat of Godspeed still active from behind the scenes while Iris West-Allen was still a captive of the new Mirror Master within a pocket dimension, losing herself to its prolonged effects, leaving multiple cliffhangers for audiences when the series returns in January 2021.
