The extended trailer for Season 4 of The CW's The Flash has arrived, and it sees Team Flash struggling with Barry Allen's absence, until he returns just in time to save Iris.

The trailer shows just how much Barry's friends, family and city rely on him. Iris is grieving but refuses to believe her fiancé is still alive in the Speed Force, while Cisco is determined to bring his fast friend back from the speedster dimension. Devising another of his clever pieces of technology, Vibe manages to bring Barry home, though the hero seems to act a little different.

We know Grant Gustin's Barry will finally marry Iris West in the upcoming season, and he’ll be taking on a new, non-speedster primary antagonist in The Thinker. “We tend to think of the Flash as an athlete, like a runner,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg recently explained. “So much of his previous seasons have been about training harder, ‘I have to run faster,’ but he’s up against a villain this season that he can’t outrun. It’s somebody he has to out-think, and it’s going to take him and Cisco and Caitlin and a few other surprise people to be able to get one step ahead of the Thinker.”
