SPOILER WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for "Marathon," The Flash's midseason premiere.

"Crisis on Infinite Earths" destroyed the multiverse and took some fan-favorite characters with it. In "Marathon," The Flash midseason premiere, Cisco revealed no more doppelgangers exist and confirmed the deaths of Harry Wells and his daughter Jesse Quick.

After Doctor Light attacked the Central City Citizen and its staff, Harrison "Nash" Wells blustered into STAR Labs to check and see if Allegra was alright. He scolded Cisco for not telling him what had happened, which led Cisco to snap back.

"I'm not here to keep you in the loop. You're not even a part of this team!" Cisco spat. "You don't even care about the team! You only work with us when you want something from us. So, what is it this time? You've got a couple glyphs you need Allegra to X-ray for you, or maybe you just want to open up another Pandora's box of hell?"

When Nash protested that he stopped Crisis, Cisco interjected. "A Crisis you started!" he yelled. "Billions of worlds, trillions of people -- gone! Like they were never even born!"

"And I paid for it! As Pariah, I paid for it, and still managed to help defeat the Anti-Monitor," Nash shouted back, only for Cisco to respond, "Which did nothing for the people who died. Oliver [Queen]. Harry. Jesse. An infinite number of Harrison Wells, and we're stick with the one who killed the multiverse."

After this blowout, Cisco went to his lab to sulk. There, Caitlin found him watching an old hologram of Harry Wells, who explained a series of experiments he was conducting to prevent his intelligence from deteriorating. "He was regaining his intelligence," he told Caitlin. "All of Earth-2, wiped out, and I didn't even know."

"That wasn't your fault," Caitlin reassured him.

"Wasn't it?" Cisco shot back. "When the Monitor gave me my powers back for Crisis, I remembered how powerful I used to be. I can't help thinking that, if I hadn't stopped being Vibe, maybe I could have sensed that first antimatter wave. Maybe I could have saved them."

Earth-2 was one of the first major causalities of "Crisis on Infinite Earths." The whole universe was destroyed by the Anti-Monitor in the Arrow Season 8 premiere, after Oliver Queen successfully retrieved something for the Monitor. It was wiped out by the antimatter wave, but Harry and Jesse's fates were left up in the air. Unfortunately, The Flash just confirmed they didn't survive.

Both Harry and Jesse were introduced in Season 2. Harry appeared as the season's main Wells, kickstarting the show's tradition of introducing a new version of the character every year, while his daughter Jesse frequently guest starred. Jesse received her own speedster powers later that same season, becoming the superhero known as Jesse Quick. They both reappeared on the series for the next couple seasons. Jesse last appeared in Season 4's "Enter Flashtime," while Harry retired in Season 4's "We Are the Flash."

Airing Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/CT on The CW, The Flash stars Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Carlos Valdes, Danielle Panabaker, Tom Cavanagh, Jesse L. Martin, Danielle Nicolet and Hartley Sawyer.
