An image shared by The Flash star Grant Gustin makes reference to a comic in which Barry Allen died.

In an Instagram story that has since expired, Gustin shared a look from the table read for Flash Season 6 Episode 1 and 2. However, when one zooms in on the script in front of the camera, the title for Episode 2 is revealed as "A Flash of The Lightning."

This title is a reference to 1985's Crisis on Infinite Earths #8, by Marv Wolfman and George Perez, on which this year's Arrowverse crossover is based. The issue, titled "A Flash of the Lightning," is famous for seeing Barry Allen sacrifice himself in order to stop the Anti-Monitor's Anti-Matter cannon.

Flash titles do pay homage to different comics, but this one seems particularly interesting considering the upcoming crossover. However, there's no indication Barry Allen will actually die, especially with how early the episode happens in the season. There's no telling at this time just what this reference might mean for the series. It's also possible this might not be the final title for the episode.
