The Scarlet Speedsters of two worlds are about to reunite in Season 6 of The Flash, and The CW has provided new official stills of the homecoming.

In the season's second episode, titled "A Flash of Lightning," Barry is seen being examined by Jay Garrick, played by returning guest star John Wesley Shipp. The character will be joined by Joan Williams, portrayed by Michelle Harrison, who played Barry's murdered mother in earlier seasons. In the comics, Joan was Jay's longtime wife since the 1940s and appears to be a scientist alongside Jay on Earth-3. The stills -- including an uncharacteristically happy Killer Frost -- and plot synopsis from the network are below.

JOHN WESLEY SHIPP TO GUEST STAR - Faced with the news of his impending death, Barry's (Grant Gustin) resiliency suffers as he struggles to fight fate. Meanwhile, Cecile's (Danielle Nicolet) career as a D.A. conflicts with her identity when she crosses paths with a villainous meta-human. Chris Peppe directed the episode written by Sam Chalsen & Jeff Hersh (#602). Original airdate 10/15/2019.

Jay was last seen during the fight against Clifford DeVoe in Season 4, deciding to retire from superhero work to train the next generation of heroes. Nevertheless, while Jay's role here is unknown, the character will be bringing back his signature winged hat.
