The first half The Flash Season 6 has revolved around Barry Allen and his friends preparing his long-prophesied death in the coming "Crisis on Infinite Earths," with his resolve tested in the midseason finale.

The CW has released the official synopsis for the first half of the two-part midseason finale before the DCTV series dovetails into the eagerly anticipated Arrowverse crossover. Titled "The Last Temptation of Barry Allen, Pt. 1," the episode sees new villain Bloodwork infecting Barry with a powerful hallucinogen as the Scarlet Speedster contemplates his own mortality. PART ONE OF THE MID-SEASON FINALE – As Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) stands on the threshold of his impending death in Crisis, his convictions are tested when the monstrous Dr. Ramsey Rosso (guest star Sendhil Ramamurthy) infects The Flash with a mysterious, hallucinogenic contagion. Ramsey Rosso's transformation into Bloodwork has steadily ramped up as Season 6 has progressed. With Barry at his most vulnerable point, the villain's hallucinogen will reveal uncomfortable truths about himself.
