The Flash Recruits Arrow Guest Star for King Shark vs. Gorilla Grodd

King Shark on The Flash

Ahead of next week's episode of The Flash, The CW has released several official stills from the upcoming episode, which reveals an Arrow guest star's return to Central City.

Lyla Michaels, director of top-secret government organization ARGUS, will appear in the aptly titled "King Shark vs. Gorilla Grodd" as the two animalistic villains square off in the streets of Central City. Lyla had previously imprisoned King Shark within ARGUS' facilities and will team up with Team Flash to stop him once again.

The episode also marks the return of Jesse Martin as Joe West after a multi-episode medical leave of absence. The actor had injured his back during the hiatus between Seasons 4 and 5, which was aggravated during filming of Season 5, forcing Martin to take time off to recuperate.

A confrontation between King Shark and Gorilla Grodd had been planned by showrunner and executive producer Todd Helbing for years but had been delayed due to budget concerns. However, with the showdown finally happening this Tuesday, the two Flash foes will finally have their battle.

Airing Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW, The Flash stars Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Carlos Valdes, Danielle Panabaker, Tom Cavanaugh, Jesse L. Martin, Danielle Nicolet, Hartley Sawyer and Jessica Parker Kennedy.
