Every week, I'll examine the five goofiest moments from a five-issue stretch of a particular comic book series. Here is a list of the moments featured so far.

This week, we look at the Superman/Batman team-ups from World's Finest #101-105, written by Bill Finger and drawn by Dick Sprang (pencils) and Sheldon Moldoff (inks)

As always, this is all in good fun. I don't mean any of this as a serious criticism of the comics in question. Not only were these writers certainly never imagining people still reading these comics decades after they were written, great comics often have goofy moments (Kirby/Lee's Fantastic Four is one of the best comic book runs of all-time and there were TONS of goofy stuff in those 100 plus issues!).

HONORABLE MENTIONS

I like how these on-lookers talk like movie titles...

It's a Caveman....from spaaaaaaace!!!

Just like the amorphous idea of when yellow affects Green Lantern, this device deflects "energy," which includes wind...

but not sonics?

Either way, it is awesome to see Superman break it with a song, Final Crisis-style.

I love the idea of Batman giving away all of his secrets at a demonstration...

"This is how I surprise crooks with my special batarang that I am telling you about now!"

This scene works as a great depiction of the disparity between the two heroes when it comes to what they bring to the table...

"You go stop that meteor, Superman! I'll handle out dental floss that everyone's teeth are protected!"

That's quite a memento, Superman...

I just love how he's just chilling, checking out his photo of an alien cop he met briefly once.

5. Grinning Death

Some bad guy had a machine that could create life-like illusions. So he made illusions of Superman and Batman causing mischief (for no reason, actually - it never ties in to the rest of the plot). I just love that shot of the fake Batman and Robin grinning as they drop dynamite on the city...

4. That's the way to do it, Batman!

I love how Batman thinks to explain to the public that he is not actually a lunatic - screaming at them from a rooftop.

3. Some deduction, Batman!

Not Batman's finest moment when he fell for a story this absurd...

2. Oh Superman, what CAN'T you do?

This bit shows how absurd super-speed can be....

It is like Finger got to the end of the issue and just needed to end things quickly. "Uhmmm...Superman just beats everyone with super-speed. Done."

1. TMI, World's Finest! TMI!

Superman handles vibrators poorly...
