Wonder Woman 1984 director Patty Jenkins has revealed the first official poster for the upcoming sequel, which features Diana Prince sporting a vibrant new suit of armor.

"By now you’ve heard: WB isn’t going to Hall H this year," Jenkins tweeted, referring to Warner Bros. not attending Comic-Con International in San Diego this July. "We’re so sad to miss you there! And waiting until Dec. to start our official #WW84 campaign in full-- But the truth is… we can just… barely… wait…"

The armor and accompanying backdrop perfectly encapsulate the bright aesthetic of the film's 1984 setting. It's also a stark contrast to the banner that surfaced at the 2019 Licensing Expo in Las Vegas, NV, which featured Diana in the same costume she wore in her previous DC Extended Universe outings.

As for why Diana undergoes such a radical update, fans will likely have to wait until the marketing campaign kicks into full gear.

Directed by Patty Jenkins, Wonder Woman 1984 stars Gal Gadot as Diana, Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Kristen Wiig as Barbara Minerva/Cheetah, Pedro Pascal and Natasha Rothwell. The film opens on June 5, 2020.
