Lara Croft is slated to make her return to the big screen this weekend when Alicia Vikander brings the character to life in Tomb Raider. But for fans of the franchise, the bigger news just hit: the first footage from the iconic adventurer's next video game has arrived.

The countdown for Shadow of the Tomb Raider's official announcement kicked off earlier this week, priming gamers for the first footage of the third installment in the franchise's current trilogy which began with 2013's Tomb Raider and continued in 2015's Rise of the Tomb Raider. Now, the teaser trailer has arrived, along with the announcement that the first full trailer will hit on April 27, while the game itself will release September 14, 2018 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
