First Look at Emma Stone & Jonah Hill in Netflix's Maniac

Academy Award winner Emma Stone and Jonah Hill, former co-stars of the popular 2007 comedy Superbad, are teaming up once again. This time, however, it's on the small screen for Netflix's Maniac.

The streaming giant, which just announced a Q1 gain of over 7.4 million new subscribers bringing up the total subscriber count to over 125 million worldwide, has released the first official images from the series giving viewers a neon-lit peek at the upcoming comedy.

First announced two years ago, the comedy television series is a remake of a Norwegian series of the same name. Stone and Hill play two strangers who find themselves caught up in a trippy pharmaceutical trial that goes off the rails to hilariously psychedelic effect.

The ten episode series has also cast Academy Award winner Sally Field (who appeared with Stone in both Amazing Spider-Man films), Justin Theroux (The Leftovers), Jemima Kirk (Girls), and Sonoya Mizuno (who appeared with Stone in her Academy Award winning turn in La La Land).

All ten episodes of the first season are written by Patrick Somerville (The Bridge) and directed by Cary Fukunaga (True Detective) who also executive produces the series along with Stone and Hill.

Maniac is expected to premiere on Netflix sometime in 2018.
