The secrets of "Spectre" begin to be revealed as Empire debuts the first images of Dave Bautista and Lea Seydoux from the 24th installment of the Bond franchise.

The "Guardians of the Galaxy" star plays henchman Mr. Hinx, who, as you can see from the photo above, apparently carries a double-barreled pistol in director Sam Mendes' film.

"When I came over to meet Sam, I only asked two questions," Bautista says in the magazine's new issue, which features Daniel Craig's 007 on not one but two covers. "I asked him if Mr. Hinx was a badass. He said, 'Yes, he's a badass.' I said, 'Well, is Mr. Hinx intelligent?' He said, 'Very.' That's what I like about Mr. Hinx. He's very well-dressed and very well-mannered. I'm not just here to fight people. He has a sense of humor. He definitely knows what a metaphor is."

Seydoux also plans to play with expectations in her portrayal as Dr. Madeleine Swann. "I don't consider myself a Bond girl," she said. "I think I'm not really the stereotyped Bond girl. I feel quite different. You can't be like, 'Oh, James.' You have to find something else. She's not a fighter, she's a doctor. She fights in another way."

"Spectre," which began shooting earlier this month, opens Nov. 6.
