First Look at 'Community' Season 6

TV Guide has unveiled the first look at the upcoming sixth season of Community in a pair of photos that not only showcases returning stars Joel McHale and Jim Rash but also new additions Paget Brewster and Keith David. The latter two replace Yvette Nicole Brown and Jonathan Banks (who will next be seen in the Breaking Bad spinoff Better Call Saul).

Community creator Dan Harmon explained to the website that when it came to filling those vacancies for the comedy's move to Yahoo! Screen, "I looked at Cheers losing Coach and going to Woody as the example of thinking laterally. The real job is how to fill the [character] vacuum, rather than replace the person."

As previously reported, Brewster (Criminal Minds) will play Francesca “Frankie” Dart, a consultant hired by Greendale Community College. According to Harmon, she'll immediately have conflicts with the show's other characters, including Rash's Dean Pelton. David, meanwhile, portrays Elroy Patashnik, a retired scientist who comes to the school to reinvent himself.

Community will stream next year on Yahoo! Screen.
