Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt are a match made in heaven, and, thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we now have the first photos of the two from the upcoming sci-fi romance "Passengers."

Directed by Morten Tyldum ("The Imitation Game"), the Columbia Pictures film stars Lawrence and Pratt as passengers on a spaceship full of thousands of people placed in sleep pods while they head on a 120-year journey to a distant planet. Pratt plays mechanic Jim Preston and Lawrence plays writer Aurora Dunn, both of whom wake up from their sleep early, while they are still 90 years away from their destination.

"They take the characters so seriously and bring so much to the roles with charm and intelligence and charisma," Tyldum said. "They really went for it and it is phenomenal to watch."

"In this day of sequels and reboots I think it's refreshing that it is a completely original story with two of the best movie stars in the world," he added. "I’m very, very happy with the movie."

Written by Jon Spaihts ("Doctor Strange"), "Passengers" also stars Michael Sheen, Laurence Fishburne and Aurora Perrineau. It opens Dec. 21.
