The first installment in a planned five-film series, "Fantastic Beasts" follows the Wizarding World's preeminent magizoologist New Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) as he arrives in 1926 New York City amid rising tensions that threaten to expose the secretive wizarding community to a fanatical group of No-Majs (the American term for Muggles) determined to eradicate them. Against that backdrop, an unsuspecting No-Maj accidentally opens Newt's leather case, unleashing some of the fantastical creatures he's collected into the city. It's now up to Newt and his new allies to recover the beasts before they come to harm -- or harm anyone else.

Directed by "Harry Potter" veteran David Yates, the film also stars Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Colin Farrell, Carmen Ejogo, Samantha Morton, Ezra Miller, Ron Perlman and Jon Voight.

"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" materializes in theaters Nov. 18.
