Guillermo del Toro is ready to scare audiences once again. After going the monsters-versus-robots route with Pacific Rim, the Pan's Labyrinth director focused on the creepy, gothic Crimson Peak. Now, thanks to Empire and Total Film (via MovieWeb), we have the first images of star Tom Hiddleston from the film.
Directed by del Toro based on a script he developed with Matthew Robbins (Mimic) and Lucinda Coxon (Wild Target), Crimson Peak was described as such by Total Film: "A young woman (Mia Wasikowska) is swept off by her feet by a charismatic suitor (Hiddleston) and taken back to his ancestral home. There she finds more than she bargained for, including a jealous sister (Jessica Chastain) and more than a few skeletons in the closet."
Charlie Hunnam, Burn Gorman, Doug Jones and Emily Coutts also star. Hiddleston replaced original actor Benedict Cumberbatch. Crimson Peak is scheduled to debut on Oct. 16.
