In a little more than a year, writer/director Joss Whedon's The Avengers: Age of Ultron, will be on its way into theaters. By then, we'll have surely seen trailers and marketing featuring full-blown looks at Ultron, Vision, Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch and more. But for now, we'll take whatever we can get from the set.

Case in point: the first set images from the Marvel sequel have emerged, featuring nothing more than some overturned cars and other assorted forms of city carnage. The photos come from the film's current shoot in Johannesburg, South Africa, believed by some to be doubling as Wakanda, the fictional kingdom ruled by the Black Panther T'Challa. Those rumors remain unconfirmed.

It's also rumored that the photos seen today involve the Hulk in some fashion (a second can be viewed at ComicBookMovie). Again, there's no confirmation, and nothing to go on other than the overturned vehicles — but that certainly seems to be the M.O. of Bruce Banner's mean, green alter ego.

The Avengers: Age of Ultron is just wading into the waters of production, with a May 1, 2015 release date on the not-so-distant horizon. Expect more and more set photos to emerge in the weeks to come; this is only the beginning.
