New concept art for The CW's "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" indicates that despite Robbie Amell's absence from the cast list, his character Firestorm will factor into the series' storyline in some way.

Debuting in Entertainment Weekly's Comic-Con issue, the art shows the nuclear-powered hero fighting alongside The Atom and Captain Cold. However, the presence of The Flash in the picture may indicate this isn't a future adventure, but rather something that occurs before the team's mission begins. Though the series is a spinoff from "The Flash" and "Arrow," and both characters factor into the formation of the Legends team, neither Grant Gustin nor Stephen Amell have been named as series regulars.

Similarly, while Victor Garber, who portrays Prof. Martin Stein, aka one-half of Firestorm, has been named as part of the "Legends" cast, his superheroic other half, Ronnie Raymond, who is played by Amell, has not.

The show's cast and creators have remained silent regarding the mystery surrounding the character, although Garber did go on record as stating that both he and Amell will appear in the season premiere of "The Flash" when it returns in the fall, several months ahead of the debut of "Legends of Tomorrow."

"Robbie and I will be joined on the first episode of the (next) season of 'The Flash,'" "Garber said. "And then we'll see what happens."

Scheduled as part of the network's midseason lineup, the eagerly anticipated show stars Caity Lotz as White Canary, Brandon Routh as the Atom, Wentworth Miller as Leonard Snart/Captain Cold, Dominic Purcell as Mick Rory/Heat Wave, Victor Garber as Professor Martin Stein (one-half of Firestorm), Ciara Renee as Hawkgirl and Arthur Darvill as time-traveler Rip Hunter. Stephen Amell and Grant Gustin will appear as Arrow and The Flash.
