Cartoon Network is setting off in a different direction with its next Adventure Time game, reteaming with Little Orbit for a story-driven 3D adventure that transforms Jake and Finn into detectives.

Developed by Vicious Cycle, Adventure Time: Finn and Jake Investigations sees Pendleton Ward's beloved characters follow in the footsteps of Finn's foster parents and become professional investigators. Faced with mysterious disappearances and strange events in the Land of Ooo, players will interrogate its inhabitants, dispatch evil-doers, solve puzzles and explore new and familiar locations.

Finn and Jake Investigations follows WayForward Technologies' Adventure Time: The Secret of the Nameless Kingdom, released in November by Little Orbit to lukewarm reviews.

"We received a lot of fan feedback asking us to bring our next Adventure Time game to next generation consoles in 3D, and we're thrilled to be delivering that and a lot more," Little Orbit CEO Matt Scott aid in a statement."This new game is a complete departure from previous Adventure Time games. We have created an intriguing classic adventure game set in a richly-detailed 3D Land of Ooo where players can check out Land of Ooo locales, talk to characters, sharpen their creative puzzle-solving skills, defeat bad guys and just have fun."

Adventure Time: Finn and Jake Investigations will arrive in November for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Wii U, as well as popular gaming systems Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo 3DS and Windows PC.
